“Finding joy in observing, exploring and creating art"

Flowers and Fruit

I inherited my love of gardening from my Grandmother who always had flowers in her yard.  I enjoy attempting  to capture the beauty of nature.

Landscapes and Waterscapes

Growing up on the Mississippi Gulf Coast has created a love of a salty breeze that I still miss after many years in Madison.  I have come to embrace the country life as well!  The landscapes, some abstract, are a result of trying different painting styles.

Birds and Animals

Living in the woods allows many opportunities to observe birds and other wildlife as well.  I enjoy trying to replicate God's creatures in my art.

~ My Story ~

I have enjoyed arts/crafts all of my life and dabbled in painting during my early 20's.  Then...career, husband, our wonderful son, and extended family on the Coast took up all of my free time (not complaining!). About ten years ago I took an acrylics art class and since then I have enjoyed other classes, online tutorials, and creating original pieces on my own.

Still have a career, husband, our son's family including our precious granddaughter, and extended family, but now I make time to paint. Most of my art is gifted to family and friends, donated to Silent Auctions or given as door prizes.  A few pieces have sold or been commissioned over the years. While I do not consider myself a professional artist, I am proud to have my art displayed throughout Mississippi and several other states.

Although sometimes challenging, I find joy in the peace and quiet of celebrating the wonder of God's creations through painting. It has made me look at the world differently, noticing colors, light sources and details I don't think I saw before painting.  My advice to everyone is remember to always enjoy the view!
